difficult
by: SororI am in what many people consider a top house and we had to make significant cuts this year -- more than I can remember in the past. I just want to tell PNMs who may or may not have gotten asked back to their favorite houses that I hope they don't take things too personally. First of all, we have certain written standards that we must adhere to and alums and nationals are making sure we do. That means that if you have below a certain high school GPA and ACT score, no matter how much we liked you we had to let you go. Second, we are very strict about how we deal with legacies and while we give them a close look and every chance, we had to cut many before the last day. That's because they would wind up at the top of our bid list if we didn't and many just weren't as outstanding as other girls. Third, rush is an imperfect process and while we wish more of our members could have met you, time didn't permit that. So in order to come back you had to look extremely strong on paper as well as impress us conversationally. This is so hard for everyone because I really can't recall a better group of girls going through. And just because you might not have been asked back to houses where you hoped you would be, you will absolutely be an asset to any house you join. And even though you may be disappointed doesn't mean that the friendships you make won't be as strong or that the contribution you make won't be as significant. The Greek system needs you. Thank you so much for your efforts.

It is different for every house and it is part of membership selection so wouldn't be known to anyone other than the actives in the house.
