Snap bids are given out the morning of bid day before everyone returns to the sorority house for bid day activities. They're extended to women that the house liked but may have dropped in the event that the house didn't get enough girls on their bid list. If you receive a snap bid, nobody will know you weren't on the original bid list and there's nothing shameful about receiving or accepting a snap bid!

I'm not sure. My house hasn't snap bid since I've been here so I have limited knowledge. I would assume not, because PHA frowns heavily on suiciding.
Were you cut from DG and are hoping to receive a snap bid? Because from what I understand, snap bids are usually given to girls who have friends in house or were some of the first cut after preference day. My advice is to continue rush as normal and seek out a house you like from the remaining ones you have.
You'd have a better chance rushing in the Spring than you would lucking into a snap bid. Snap bids are rather rare and there's no guarantee that DG, or any house, will extend snap bids.

In order for DG to need to snap bid, they would have to not make quota during bid matching. This is HIGHLY unlikely.
Only one house did not make quota last year (not DG) and almost all houses were over quota due to QA's.
Here's the thing with snap bids:
1. If a chapter does need to snap up to quota, they are not going to call girls they've released during the week. They are going to call girls who they invited back but who had not ranked them 1. If DG or any of your other top picks released you, there is no way they'd have you on a snap bid list.
2. Generally, the weak chapter are the ones who don't make quota and usually PNM's like yourself think they're too good for those house(s) so you probably wouldn't want to accept the snap bid that would be a possibility.

If you want to be DG, and they gave you an invite, you need to choose them. Not wait around and hope you end up with them when your other picks don't choose you.

Why would you drop? You have NO CHANCE of getting a snap bid to a top house because top houses make quota and don't snap bid!
The houses who invite you to pref REALLY like you. The houses who cut you this week didn't love you enough to put you high enough on their invitation lists. The pref houses you have are your best chance to be Greek at Mizzou. Hopefully you didn't drop today. Plus, your pledge sisters will be your best friends and they aren't even in the chapters yet so I find it hard to believe you've decided you're not a "good fit" (ie, you think you're too good for) the 300+ diverse women in each of those chapters. If you can't make friends in a group of 300 women, the problem is YOU.

If a house releases you, you will not get a snap bid. In the event a house needs to snap bid (VERY RARE for most chapters), they do not go back to PMs they have released. They may go back to a PM who regretted them earlier in the process but not to someone they already released. I am sure there have been exceptions to this but that is the rule of thumb.
Please do not drop out of formal recruitment thinking you can get into one of your top choices via a snap bid.

They would only need to snap bid of for some reason hey didn't make quota--which they will! Even if they didn't they would probably only miss by one or two and the chances of them calling YOU aren't high. Do NOT bank on that happening. Either stock with the process and find your home elsewhere or consider going through again next year. Also, they could only offer you one if you weren't released or given a bid elsewhere anyways.

DG did not snap bid anyone last year. No house did. There were quota additions, and some houses did COB immediately after formal recruitment. But no one had a snap bid. There are official reports that are prepared for the panhellenic community and they say whether or not some chapter had snap bids. No one did.
It is highly unlikely that DG would be able to snap anyone, as they always match to quota.
