Let me get this straight...you love a chapter and want to join but are afraid of being judged? Why would you let what other people say control your life? Guess what if join a SORORITY, people will judge you. If you don't, they'll judge you for not. People will judge you no matter what you do in life. All that matters is that YOU are happy because you'll be judged for whatever you do.
And on a side note, phi Mu is flipping awesome! And I guarantee if you're there and happy then people will say wow that's an awesome phi Mu! People would judge you if you joined DG or AXO too. So what? What's not to love about the mus!? Sweet, hardworking, well-liked, STRONG nationals and just like the other houses. Come on. Be you.

Don't be too tough on the girl. She's a freshmen going to a brand new school and probably doesn't want to make a decision that would get her bullied. She doesn't know the actual dynamic of greek life.
But yes, Phi Mu is a wonderful house and you should join!

Umm....I loved phi Mu all week! They're not my top choice right now, but I would be happy if I ended up here! Great conversations and women! They seem to really care about each other. Honestly based on this site I was expecting to see like the rejects from band camp haha. And then I walked in and they looked JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER HOUSE. Haha I kept waiting to have a painfully awkward convo--never did! Maybe some people do, but to me they seem like an great house.
Like if I join what's going to happen? I'm a size 2...I don't think I'm like turning into a whale hahaha. This site is SO false about ALL the houses. None of it was true, at least to me!

Phi Mu competes better and has better grades than Sigma. I wouldn't say they're necessarily better than Zeta though. I'd say they're on par with SK as well.

They are a chapter than sigma, and they have a slight edge over zeta because their sisterhood is so strong. I also think phi mu has a small edge over SK for the top of the so-called bottom tier based on the radical changes they've made since I went through recruitment in 2011. But all them have their commendable strengths and areas for improvement, just like every house on this campus.

Going through recruitment, I think Phi Mu is much better than Zeta and were able to hold a good conversation, the girls seem very sweet. SK struck me as a hodge podge house no real collective vibe from them, more like a bunch of misfits thrown together but they were pleasant

Go with your gut feeling. If you feel connected to this house then you should seriously consider it. Don't pay attention to old stereotypes as they can change in a year, and they have the past 2 years. Have you seen their Spring pledges? Their gorgeous girls as their are gorgeous girls in every house. This is a house on the move upwards and you will be pleasantly surprised to see your beautiful sisters on Bid Day!! Your lucky to still have a chance at any house as it's really becoming competitive here. Go For It!
