are you asking in general or in greek life? hopefully you live on campus or an apartment with a shuttle or walking distance to campus the rest of your years or have really nice friends and roommates. it's not terrible, you just won't have the certain freedoms you'd want, if you need to go to the grocery store or walmart or target or the mall, you can't just go when you want to.

A lot of greeks don't have cars. Good parking permits are expensive and not worth it in my opinion. And free parking, say like on the streets of Greektown, is almost never available. Also, regular parking downtown is an absolute nightmare and relentless towing is like heroine for the tow companies. So if you live somewhere where everything is in walking distance the next 3 years, I would say you're definitely saving yourself a lot of hassle.
