dg = no house + big bills for new pledges
by: CURIOUSSo what is the deal, for real?? I want to join a sorority in which I can live in a sorority HOUSE. That's a huge part of the experience. If they are tearing down the DG house, and as a Freshman, I'll never live in a true DG house but will be expected to foot the bill for it, I want to know NOW before I get myself into a horrible, expensive situation.

ChiO was strategic and their members lived in the beautiful house that is now once again, ATO. DG has NO WHERE TO GO - maybe some ramshackle houses on East Campus or the Hampton Inn. Living in a sorority house is truly the best part of membership. Maybe all 300 girls can cram into their scary annex.

one of the most important experiences about being in a sorority is getting to live in house with your pledge sisters and you already only get 1 year to do that, maybe 2 if you're on exec, but it is not something I would brush off just to be in DG. Living in house was one of my favorite experiences and plus it's cheaper usually than the dorms.

Don't you need a house in Greek Town to rush? Isn't that a bylaw or something? How is DG going to rush next year if they don't even have a house to hold recruitment in? Are they going to be in one of the campus buildings ike SK was when they colonized? This is such a bad plan.

Had house tour day at DG and as a PNM I can say they've been very honest with us. I applaud them because I didn't know what to expect or if they would tell us anything but one room in the house was dedicated to talking about plans for the new house. And it looks absolutely beautiful. Same basic structure as the one now. Just much bigger
