What is bid day like and what happens after we open our bids. Do frats throw parties that day?

After a very stressful and hectic week you've finally done it! You've gained membership to an amazing sisterhood, and it's time to celebrate! You all meet at the columns and your pi chi's will give you an envelope with your bid card. There will be a speech then, there will be a countdown to open your bus card. Once you open the card you run to the Seniors of your respected sorority waiting for you at the columns. You'll never be so happy to hug a stranger!! You'll get a brief time to get a few pics while your whole pledge class assembles. Then you begin the walk to Greek town, you'll see tons of frat guys cheering you on as they see you all approach. Once you make it toward your house there will be members in the previous PC with signs with your names on it who are your bid day buddies! They'll get you your bid day shirts, flower crowns, hair bows, hats to wear. Their job is specifically welcome you and show you around and get to know you that day, and a lot of the time your bid day buddy ends up being your big! At your house you'll take tons of pics with all your sisters and the wooden lawn letters and throw what you know for the first time and take a pic your pledge class and whole chapter. You'll hangout from the afternoon til the early evening til it's time to head to tiger walk! You'll be able to run through the columns with your sisters and students in your class and officially begin your journey as a Tiger! It's quite the day, and undoubtedly memorable.

^^ Love this post. Only difference is that bid day will be at Faurot Field this year instead of the columns :(

I'm not totally sure if frats threw parties that night last year, but since bid day is still technically rush week so you still aren't supposed to be on fraternity property/going out. I know of girls who did go out last year and some got in trouble and some didn't, but its just something to be careful of.
