maximizing
by: PnmDo you suggest maximizing your options. ? and can you please explain a little more about what it is for those who may be confused
#2by: Don't Do It
#3by: YES!!
Please do. Seriously, all 15 houses have so much more in common than you could imagine. Being in one of the 15 is a completely different college experience than not being greek. You get what you put into it, no matter what house you are a member of.
Maximizing your options just means that you keep an open mind all week long. You accept those houses than invite you back each day, forget about the ones that don't. You appreciate that they see something in you, even if you aren't quite sure why. You acknowledge after preference (when you sign your MRABA) that you would be willing to join any of the houses who invited you to preference, and you list all of them on your MRABA.
If you attend 3 houses, you list all 3. If you attend 2, you list them both. If you only have one invite, you list that one.
If you maximize your options and are cross cut, you will be a quota addition. (Barring something seriously bizarre, like you showing up at preference and telling everyone you are a psychopath and they get special permission to refuse to give you a bid.) Yes, you might end up with your #3 house. But you WILL end up with a house.
