They usually do. But don't forget that the number of PNMs has absolutely no effect on your likelihood to get a bid. More PNMs just means quota will be higher.

It does have an effect on someone's likelihood of getting into a top house. When numbers are higher, cuts are more stringent. And when girls don't get asked back to their favorite houses, they tend to drop. That's OK. It is an indication that they were more interested in getting into a specific house than being a part of Greek life in general and that's their choice. So it all works together to reduce the number of girls who are still in the running on the last day. But if there are 300 more girls going through rush it is unrealistic to imply that quote will be increased by 20 girls per house over the past year. That won't happen.

The official # is 1890 PNMs! Kinda surprised as that number is smaller than last year. But so exciting!

It's because enrollment at Mizzou, in total, went down! 1890 is still an incredible amount though!!

I think this is the first year that PHA included the recommendation to have at least a 3.5 GPA so I bet that affected registration. It's still quite a bit of girls! Still probably second highest in the country for recruitment.

Wondering if this site caused girls not to register? I think if I had read this site before rush I would have been scared to death. I also think It girls with lower than a 3.5 decided not to register and wait to cob in spring with a college gpa.

Good point. I think the new GPA requirements probably lowered the numbers. I was nervous to sign up when I saw that too but maybe since so many people drop out and get cut due to grades this kind of helped weed them out beforehand? Not sure but it will be interesting to see what happens!

Don't flatter yourselves. This website had nothing to do with people not registering for rush. By far the majority of girls from small towns, out of state and many other high schools neither know nor care about this site. The lower numbers are all about demographics, as most people know. The year 1991, for example, was a peak year for millennial generation births. That year there were 4,111,000 live births in the U.S. In 1997, which is when this year's pledge class was born, there were just 3,882,000 live births. High schools and colleges are preparing for numbers to drop precipitously. That's why Mizzou has a smaller freshman class and why rush is smaller.

You know, if you have a hard time dealing with journalism majors, perhaps Mizzou isn't the place for you.
