site makes me not want to rush
by: ScaredHonestly this site makes me not want to rush anymore. The people are so negative and basically every question a PNM asks is answered by people who basically tell them that they won't get a bid.

I am so sorry about the person above me. Most Greeks aren't really like that its the same handful of people who are on here everyday. Although it is hard to get a bid here, they don't know you or what kind of person you are and could very well be the next pi phi president.

I had been on this site in the spring and I was convinced that rushing would be a bad idea because it would be like HS drama all over again. I was a clueless and curious girl who googled and found this website. This site was one of the first views I had about Greek life. I wonder how many women have advised against rushing just from seeing this behavior. It gives the wrong idea. But I have talked to many actives and alumna who advise PNMs to not take this site too seriously because it's a bunch of houses self ranking. I think it's really sad how they are making their Greek system look, but I really hope it's not true. If you want some legit answers I would go to sororitysugar.tumblr.com I really wish actives could realize or remember how us PNMs are feeling. We are confused, nervous, excited and just looking for a little validation or answers. If anyone else knows of any credible and good sites to get more info- or wants to share honest info- please post here!

Recruitment is a little scary and is a challenging week to say the least for all PNMs. I know you want as much information as possible and most of the real questions seem to have been answered. Truth is we don't have answers to all of your questions. We can't guarantee how the week will go for you, if you will end up in a house, or which one it will be. There's no magic formula to which house you will end up in based on your GPA, activities, looks, what you wear, or where you are from. A lot of time it just comes down to random luck because there are so many great girls that are all equally qualified. After bid day, whatever house you end up in will be your house and you will love it regardless of how it is ranked or what is said about it on here.

Honestly, it is not hard to get a bid in general, so long as you put some effort into it and have grades above the minimum requirements for at least some houses.
What is hard is to get a bid to a specific house. That's why so many women drop out, and I honestly think many of those drop-outs are the people who troll this site. They are bitter that they couldn't get into one of their top choices and want to ruin it for everyone else. Stick with the system. Keep an open mind. Acknowledge that all 15 houses have way more in common with each other than with non-greek students, and that all 15 houses have a lot to offer.
You'll do fine. :)

My neighbor is on this site all the time. She went through rush and dropped so she has no affiliation with a house. She's funny and sarcastic and loves to get a rise out of people. She's a great writer and I have laughed out loud at some of the stuff she has written and the stupid reactions and over-reactions she gets over what she writes. It's a hobby with her because she has a summer job with computer access all day long. So keep this in mind when you take this site too seriously.

This website is NOT I repeat NOT an accurate portrayal of Greek life at mizzou. Nobody talks about tiers. People aren't really judgmental of what house you're in. The only time people talk about "rankings" is during homecoming, greek week, and when grades come out. Any competition is healthy, fun competition. Greeks at Mizzou aren't catty like they are at other schools. It blows my mind why our Greek rank is so atrocious because I haven't ever experienced any negativity even close to what this site insists is the norm. Please go through recruitment, because you'll meet the most amazing and genuine girls who will become your best friends. I promise.

sim confused why non-Greeks get on here to stir up trouble. It's pathetic that they are so obsessed with Greek life.
