My chapter looks at test scores and grades for freshman, as well as what high school. For sophomores, we look at high school overall as background and their college GPA. The teams reviewing recommendations and registration info on PMs have a pretty good understanding of various high schools who send students to Mizzou based on former students from those schools who are in the chapter and alumnae - Chicago area, Denver, southern Calif., Texas, Minnesota and others. We rely on a network of alumnae across the country to help us find out info on out of state girls. PHA chapters in some cities pool recs on PMs. The intent is to identify the PMs with the greatest likelihood to be successful academically in college. Lots of factors play into that.

An example of an exception: My house did not drop my now Little because she was in the hospital for a year, and her grades suffered. If you have a situation similar to that (a family member was very sick, etc.), let them know! Or if you know someone in the house, make sure they know so that they can stick up for you.

Seriously just go through recruitment and find out for yourself. All houses have their own rules and they are not going to tell you cut and dry if you will get cut. When I was rushing I overheard a PNM ask an active about grade cuts as soon as she was picked up at the door. The active didn't know what to say and I'm sure their conversation was a bit rocky after that awkward question. So stop worrying about it and have a positive attitude
