So if you have less than a 3.5 you will be considered in the yellow section and not given a bid basically?

It just means that you may have your options limited. Ie: houses that make higher cuts based on grades: Theta, ChiO, PiPhi, etc MAY cut you.

I won't say which it is, by my house has a 3.2 grade cut.

My house isn't known for being as stickler about grades as Theta or Chi O but we still have a 3.33 garde cut. There are a few houses that will ask girls back to round 2 with 2.9, but many of those girls are exceptions because their actives see something in them. Just because you have below a 3.5 does not mean "you basically won't have bid". It certainly lowers your chances because if you and another girl are very similar and could offer many of the same things to the sorority but she has higher grades than you most likely the house will yake the girl with the higher grades. If you have lower grades then you just need to make yourself stand out more!
