living in the sorority house sophomore year

Living in the house IS one of the best things about being in a sorority. And after you live in the house most people decide to live together the next year(s) at the same apartment complex, so it's like living together again. But you don't have t join a house where EVERYONE can fit. You just have to participate and get good grades and then there will be a place for you. So don't worry, unless you plan to slack off and get bad grades.

To answer your question, ADPi, Chi Omega and Gphi for sure have enough room accommodate a whole pledge class including any COB's in spring they'd get. DG, Aphi, and Phi Mu all have an annex to accommodate more members, but I'm unsure if it can fit girls from both fall and spring. As for the other sororities, spots in house are competitive and most use a point system (gpa and involvment), or random drawing to determine who can stay. No more than 10-15 girls won't live in house so you won't be losing out on the experience at all.

Houses can hold 70-100 people (my house can hold 99 girls, which is fewer than our sophomore pledge class so some girls didn't get to live in, but most people who want to get to). Some houses could hold more or fewer but these are numbers I've heard around before!

Usually almost every girl who joins gets to live in house! There's girls who also don't want to live in house or have reasons not to. Just focus on the requirements to live in house and there shouldn't be a reason you don't get to! 92 girls can live in my house and my pledge class has 7 more girls than that so they are on a "wait list" in GPA order which decides who can move in as spots open up.

Gphi couldn't fit all of their members in their house for this upcoming year...I know a girl from high school who is leasing a house because she didn't make the cut on the room pick list

Tridelt makes sure every member gets to live in their sophomore year...they got some new rooms when their house was renovated 2 years ago so they can fit everyone with extra space for exec

Aphi and Pi Phi don't have nearly enough room for the girls in their newer pledge classes because of the number of girls who go through recruitment now
