resume instead of a rec?

If I don't have a rec to a certain house, can I send my resume, a photo and an introduction letter instead? A family friend told me she did that to G Phi and APhi since she didn't know anyone to write a rec for those houses and they kept asking her back. I don't want to do something not PC but I would like to do this if it would help a house know more about me.

Don't do that. If you're not reccomended by an alum then you sending us your resume is just you recommending yourself and we don't care. PNMs have done that this year and we threw their resumes out

A recommendation is just that: the word from a valued alum who is vouching for a potential new member. Don't send your resume; we will throw it out and probably cut you. How about this: stop being so lazy and take the time to find an alum to write a legit rec for you.
