piphi
by: PnmHi! I'm interested in pi phi(of course a lot of other houses as well!) but I'm sort of confused about them. I've heard from a lot of people they are a top three house (I don't care about this) but others say they aren't involved in the greek community after rush. I doubt they are considered top if this is true, but I still have to ask if it is. I know you can say see for yourself when you rush, but being involved is really important to me and that's not something i really think you'll see during rush but instead thoughout the semester.

They participate in every competition just like every other chapter (i.e. HoCo, Greek Week, RAMS, and fraternity philanthropies). Nobody will argue that they are a great competition house but they did place 5th in HoCo and won overall for RAMs. So I disagree, they don't "fall off the radar" in my opinion.

They are a selective house with high standards. They have a great sisterhood and really encourage their members to achieve. They participate, and often do well, in Greek activities. BUT, they are not a rah-rah house. Not many cheerleader types here and they really don't go for superficialities. To say they fall off the radar after rush is unfair and inaccurate, but I would say they put their effort into other endeavors. They aren't for everyone, that's for sure. But they are a distinctive house with a cool vibe. If competition with other sororities is your thing, then this probably isn't the house for you.

Pi Phi gets involved in the greek competitions and does well! There are all types of girls in Pi Phi that's for sure but they all are really chill girls. I wouldn't consider them leaders on campus or involved with other non-greek things, even though I'm sure there's Pi Phi's that are. What I am saying is that as a whole Pi Phi doesn't seem as involved in non greek things, in other Greeks philanthropies, and I've heard that they aren't very involved in their own philanthropy (I'm sure that's probably a bad rumor, but I can see truth in it). Regardless, they are a good house that PNMs love and for a good reason.

Pi phi is certainly not for everyone, I agree. I personally wouldnt call them a top house myself, either, but they are not bad. It's a very mixed group of girls, like the girl above said, not many of the cheerleader types here. They are very do your own thing kind of people. Don't really see a lot of them socializing with other girls in other houses, they keep to themselves pretty well. Very self involved. Generally very smart. You just have to go through rush to find out. You either love them or hate them.

They put on a great rush and get some of the best PNMs, and that's great for them and makes them a great house. Other than the fact that they get great girls and are competitive in all of the greek competitions they don't really do anything else. If you are looking for a chapter that is involved in all aspects of Mizzou then Pi Phi isn't for you. If you are looking for a chill house then Pi Phi is a good candidate.
