sororities stereotypes

Seriously. When I was a PNM and excited to go through recruitment I was doing research on the houses to see what I was interested in when I found this site, and I wish I hadn't. I knew to take each stereotype and mean words with a grain of salt, but I still formed opinions about "bottom" houses that ruined my rush. I went into rush REALLY wanting to be in 2 certain houses because they got the least amount of hate on this website and didn't have a bad stereotype, which is so ridiculous. I had the best conversations in those houses and almost tried too hard. At other houses I wasn't as interested and they could tell. I had my 2 favorite houses on pref day and one other house. I only preffed the 2 houses and got a phone call on Sunday because I didn't get a bid. I was so upset, but after talking to my pi Chi's and being honest about how I felt during rush they told me that it is a common mistake that girls make that ruins their rush. Basically, you should rush every single house like it is the best house, it guarentees you the best outcomes. I ended up going through COB and now I am in a great chapter that I have nothing but love for every one of my sisters. But I always remember that if I had not been obsessed with those stereotypes I could've been in the house I'm in from the start!

..... Or you guys could just say don't think about stereotypes instead of giving her your old wise "when I wAs ur age" lecture like you're an 80 year old. Certain houses attract girls with certain interests, but it's not like, high school stereotypes kind of thing. There's a mix in every house which is why they don't really apply. So ya, don't worry about it. You'll hear them as you go, but ignorw it. You end where you're supposed to.
