ok, i get it
by: lolololYou just graduated from high school and you can't wait to get on with the rest of your life. College is the next big step, and before classes start you will be going through rush. It's all just a big mystery to you now and you would feel better if you knew exactly what to expect. So you come on this site and ask all kinds of questions. The thing is, you really aren't getting straight answers. You have Kappas and Theta boasting about how pretty the girls in their house are and you have TriDelts talking about how they are considered a smart house and you have KD talking up their video because they made it truly representative of the good work they do and you have someone in a lower tier house talking about how PiPhis aren't skinny enough and on and on and on. The problem is, the comments on here are never objective and they are never 100% accurate. You have to consider the source and, of course, on an anonymous site no one knows the source. So how about this? Let's just agree to 1) stop the stupid questions, 2) own the fact that you won't have everything all figured out before rush begins and 3) embrace the uncertainty and go with the flow. NO ONE but you knows which house is best for you and it will take lots of parties to figure that out. College is a new adventure and it should start with leaving high school behaviors behind, like letting your friends influence who you are going to be and what you are going to do with your life. It's college. Think for yourself.

Great post! Listen girls, I was in your shoes last year, so I get it. But she is right. Think for yourself. Make your own choices. Do you want to let others choose your friends for you? I think not. Go though with an open mind and realize what an honor it is to be going through recruitment at a school with such a strong greek system. I look forward to meeting y'all!

#5by: the reason
the reason you get mixed signals and messages is because ALL the houses have pretty girls, smart girls, athletic girls, party girls, book worms, leaders, etc. EVERY HOUSE. Regardless where you end up you will find a group of friends you fit in with. With nearly 100 girls in each pledge class there is no way everyone has a stereotype. No one talks about tiers on campus either.. just on this website.

Though the OP is right in an ideal world, thats not what happens in real life here. Just because you think you know or maybe you do know, which house is best for you does not mean your getting in it. And the biggest part of this problem is because of all the idiots stuck in high school just picking their little high school friends during rush because they can't let go and actually mature. The "think for yourself" phrase is for both pnms and the girls in the house.

That's true. But there really are only a handful of cliquey houses that seem to exclusively choose their high school friends - like TriDelt, DG, Gamma Phi and maybe Kappa. I would stay away from those houses and seek out houses with a lot of out-of-state girls. That's the biggest indicator that a house seeks geographic diversity.
