hazing?

by:

I know everyone says that hazing doesn't happen at all but I find that hard to believe. If hazing doesn't occur, what are some of the things sorority pledges have to do before initiation?

Go and read the other 25357390790 threads about this same thing. More than one sorority has been "caught hazing" girls in the past, but nothing within the last 3-4 years. We are getting watched like hawks now so there is absolutely 110% no hazing in sororities, especially in chapters that were recently in trouble because they kicked girls out that were involved.

If you're that worried about it, don't pledge.

There is absolutely no hazing in sororities. A lot of fraternities still do, but I'd be shocked if any sororities do.

Isn't pomping hazing?

by: No

No. Pomping is a part of homecoming. Usually, every member of a chapter has a required amount of hours to pomp that is determined by their pomp heads ( people elected in that chapter to be in charge of pomping basically) I guess you could say freshman get the most hours, which I would call paying your dues, not hazing. Pomping can be fun if you go out of your comfort zone to make new friends with the people in your pledge class and the house you're paired with.

Pomping is just a part of homecoming. Some fraternities use it as hazing, but not the sororities. Everyone has required hours based on how much Pomping you need to complete, but it usually 3-7 hours a week, except for marathon weekend. It sounds like a lot but it's not bad and it's actually a lot of fun if you make it!

Yeah that would be called getting hazed.

In my chapter, freshmen and sophomores do the same amount of pomping so I would definitely not consider pomping hazing. The amount of pomping even allowed is decreased for this year anyways by a lot.
