here's my situation

by: Lauren

I'm a double (possibly triple, if you count my cousin) legacy to tri delta. I'm from Indiana. Niether my mom or sister went to Mizzou. Graduated with a 3.24 with a rigorous class schedule. 28 ACT. Top half percent of my class. Basketball and soccer all four years. Volunteer for humane society. Do I get a bid from delta?

If this is a real post, you just gave out way too much information. You will be very easy to identify at Delta and all of the houses now and that may come back to haunt you. It's an anonymous site so no need to give yourself away.

First of all, when it comes to legacies, cousins don't count. Plus, legacies are a dime a dozen. As for a 28 ACT in the top half percent of your class, it can't have been a very competitive school or rigorous class schedule. At my school someone with a 3.24 wouldn't have been anywhere near that class rank and if they were in the top half percent they would have had at least a 32-33 ACT. I'm not saying this to be insulting, I'm just hoping you will adjust your expectations. Besides, why in the world would you have your heart set on TriDelt when you haven't even spent time in that house? I think you need to widen your horizons.

Sometimes girls just like to know if they have a good shot at their legacy house if they did end up liking the girls and liking the house. It just gives them some security before rush that Id they wanted to they would get in. :)

how do you know her classes weren't hard? Maybe they were hard and thats exactly why she got a lower gpa... maybe she literally took AP classes her entire high school career which made her gpa a little lower, because 3.2 in college isn't anything to hang your head about, really. so just because it sounds like your high school was easy enough to get a great gpa all across the board doesn't mean hers was easy too. and a 28 on the act? thats definitely not bad. come on. you ARE being insulting.

Only someone who had never taken an AP class would think you could literally "take AP classes her entire high school career." Your ignorance is showing big time, honey.

A 3.2 isn't the best but it's good enough, and ur act is pretty solid. Your an average pnm but ur legacy status will defiantly give you an edge at that house. You have a good chance but nothing is Forsure, so dont get ur heart set or your whole rush experience will be ruined.
