st. louis girls
by: PnmSo I'm not from around here at all, and I was hearing that sororities are really cliquey with girls from St. Louis. I don't want a lesser chance because I'm going into Mizzou with nobody knowing me.

Why are you guys so hung up on a house taking girls they know stuff about? If so and so's friend is a good fit but went to a specific high school, I'm pretty sure it's just fine to take them and give them a bid. There's a good amount of STL girls who go through rush and go to Mizzou in general so it would be hard for a house in general to not have a bunch of STL girls.

It's not even about the question where you went high school that bugs me it's the sisterhood itself. the fact is that it's bu.llshi.t that you recruit a house full of girls who already knew each other in high school and then the rest of the girls you do recruit that aren't friends with them end up hating that giant clique you recruited into your house and that is not a sisterhood. I get it, it's okay and understandable to recruit a few girls who went to the same high school and that you know because you feel they'd be a great fit. But I mean when you practically hand a bid to an entire friend circle of like 25 girls, that's when it becomes not okay and not fair to the rest of the pledge class and the sisterhood loses strength because it becomes hostile. I know there are cliques in every house, but when girls who have actually experienced the sisterhood firsthand tell you they hate the St. Louis cliques in their house, then that's trouble. A clique should never be so big it makes your other sisters completely alienate you and tri delt has that issue.

Chi O used to be that way but with KC girls. My sister's pledge class had about 12 girls from Leawood and they were such a clique! I'm in a different house but a Friend told me that when doing the cuts during rush they try not to get too many girls from one area. They'll say - "we need to cut some xyz girls" so they have more diversity. My house does that too!

To answer your question, OP, I would agree with the rest of these posters, Tri delt is the cliquiest with St Louis girls and arguably one of the cliquiest houses on campus. That by no means means they are a bad house or that you have no chance in that house, but there is a considerable amount of girls in tri delt that previously knew each other which does create some bad cliqueiness. That being said, every house has st louis girls and probably quite a few of them at that and every house also has cliques as well. As long as you are a good pnm on paper and easy to talk to in person, you should be fine in most houses.

Every house is going to have a lot of STL girls because the STL area is the closest to Mizzou besides columbias own school district. So every house is going to be majority of STL girls. It doesn't matter how many there are its how they treat each other. Yes there are some STL girls who are private school girls and stuck up, and there are a lot of those in SK. But it's ridiculous to say that a house has too many STL girls when the majority of PNMs are going to come from STL and then KC and then Chicago. I'm from STL and I'm the only girl in the entire house from my high school and I went to a huge high school.

STL girls have an attitude though. Last year during rush I talked to several pnms that acted so superior to me and other pnms because they went to the St. Louis private schools and had rich parents, and tri delt happens to take a lot of those girls
