This is how the General PNM would probably pref their houses if they got to have a perfect recruitment and knew everything they needed to know about the houses:
1. Tri delt
2. Pi phi
3. Chi o (maybe Pi phi here and chi o number 2, idk)
4. Theta or Kappa or gamma phi, depends on who rubbed you the right way.
6. delta gamma
7. ADPi
8. Alpha phi
9. Axo
10. Zeta
11. Kappa delta
12. Sigma kappa
13. Phi my
14. Sigma
Now of course this is not how everyone thinks by any means, but for your average joe who comes into recruitment knowing a little bit about the houses, this is how most would rank them up I guarantee it.

I know a lot of girls( and yes they had excellent grades) who cut Theta first round and a lot who preferred Zeta, APhi, and Gphi over Theta and ADPi.

generally speaking though, theta is chosen over alpha phi and zeta. its just a stronger house.

Theta is one of the more selective houses and Zeta, APhi and GPhi kind of get the girls who don't get their first choices. This list is beyond stupid. And to the person who thinks GPhi and Theta were the same the year we went through rush, you must have been high. They aren't even in the same league, and anyone going through rush who is a decent conversationalist would know that. I mean, for gods sake, I have never had a more vapid conversation than I did at GPhi. Those girls are as stupid as interbred cousins.

Theta and Gphi weren't for me. Kind of extremes at opposite ends of the spectrum. I loved APhi and Zeta and AXO. They do a great job during recruitment. Even if they are not a first choice for most at the beginning, they have a mixture of so many types of girls that it's easy to find someone in these houses you can click with.

inbred, interbred, doesn't matter, girls still pick gphi over theta more than half the time. sorry.

I had a perfect rush and this was what my list looked like.
1. Delta {Legacy}
2. XO {Legacy}
3. Kappa {Legacy}
4. Pi Phi
5. DG
6. AXO
7. ADPi {Legacy}
8. KD
9. SK
10. Theta
12. Zeta
13. GPhi
14. Phi Mu
15. Sigma
Personally, I didn't have a good time in Theta or GPhi. DG surprised me considering I rushed right after the incident of them getting caught drinking beer at Greek Week games. KD and SK really warmed me up with their good vibes and AXO did a really great job pairing me with girls that I got along with. Ultimately I picked my mothers house, Delta, and I'm very happy where I am. Though I didn't have a single terrible experience in any house, just some that didn't make a lasting impression.

so pretty close to the OP's original. I would venture to say that most PNMs had a list similar to this one with some houses maybe switched around a little. but generally the same!

I disagree. There are so many choices and if you keep an open mind you won't necessarily rank a higher tier house over a lower tier house. For instance, my favorite houses were pi phi, axo, and zeta. I was a little intimidated by pi phi, and feel that my lack of confidence got me cut. I felt much more comfortable in axo and they were in my top 5 all week. The big surprise for me was how much I liked zeta. I knew some actives already that were, for lack of better terms, irresponsible and overly dramatic, which was why I had never considered joining, but I did end up really enjoying my time there. At the end, I suicided axo. Pi phi had just cut me, and I was devastated (now looking back I'm glad because I did feel so uncomfortable in their house). My other choices were aphi and zeta. I couldn't see myself in either of those houses so that's why I suicided.

For every girl it is different and really depends on the active you are paired with, but this is how it was for me:

I went into recruitment wanting to be a Chi O or a Pi Phi but was disappointed with Chi O when almost all the girls I talked to were extremely awkward and I didn't click with them. They are a great house, just not a great house for me.

I also had a damn near perfect recruitment last year! Was cut by DG only which was disappointing to me because I was a legacy. Here were my prefs
1.) Pi phi/kappa/theta (not telling the order!)
4.) chi o
5.) tri delt
6.) axo
7.) adpi
8.) alpha phi
9.) gamma phi
10.) zeta
11.) sigma kappa
12.) kappa delta
13.) phi Mu/sigma
Cut by: DG right before pref day so i didn't list them. But I tried to pref them instead of theta. I got my first pick on bid day but I won't say who I Preffed first! I am happy though and good luck to the PNMS!

This is pretty close to how rush played out for me, except I got rid of Kappa early and was more interested in ADPi. I also was more fond of Zeta than GPhi, but I got rid of both of them fairly early, too.

theta is definitely higher up. how would a girl rather be a zeta or aphi than a theta? id put them right above adpi and id put chi o ahead of dg and id put dg and kappa on the same line because i always see the same girls going to those two houses on pref day. weird.
