by: Help???There seem to be some houses that are full of St. Louis girls, some houses that take a lot of out-of-state girls, some houses that give small-town girls a chance, some houses that love legacies and some that don't. Generally speaking, can you tell me which is which? For example, if a house is full of St. Louis private school girls I don't want to get my hopes up b ecause I doubt I would have a chance.

OK. Here are the stereotypes. But remember stereotypes are meant to be defied.
TriDelt is known for taking St. Louis girls, and DG has taken more than its share. They seem to care whether someone goes to a private school, but most houses are beyond that. ADPi and PiPhi seem to value diversity and like to take a wide range of girls, including lots of out of state girls. Of the two, PiPhi has girls from all around the country, ADPi from mainly around the midwest. Most of the mid- to lower-tier houses value their legacies and you will have a bit more of a chance if you are a legacy to one of those houses, like AXO, Kappa and Alpha Phi. It has been said before that Theta, TriDelt, Chi O and PiPhi could fill an entire pledge class just with legacies because those chapters have been around so long, so you won't necessarily have an advantage in those houses if you are a legacy. As for small-town girls, every house takes some so it all depends on what you bring to a house. Just remember you will be competing with lots of sophisticated girls from suburban Chicago, Atlanta and Dallas, so do yourself a favor and read the fashion magazines to prepare for rush.

My house, kappa, has been on campus the longest, so yes we can fill an entire pledge class of legacies and then some, contrary to this posters belief. Many legacies are cut from our house for a number of reasons and we don't take it lightly. So just because you are a legacy, doesn't mean you will get in :) but you will be more heavily considered!
