new rules
by: FreshmanAbout a month ago I made my final decision to attend mizzou. I chose it because I loved mizzou's campus, business program, and Greek life. Maybe that's a superficial thing to judge a school on, its Greek system, but that's one of the things I was looking forward to most about mizzou. Now after hearing about these high school like rules I'm seriously wishing I chose another large state school, bc lets be honest, MU's culture is what set it apart. Now it's just like HS all over again.

Yeah I don't blame you. These rules don't really affect me because Im a senior and go to the bars. However, I look back fondly at my freshman and sophomore year and will always remember the fraternity basement parties spent with my sorority sisters. I seriously hope they do not take this away from you all. There are many other state schools that will provide you with that fun along with your studies.

You are making sweeping judgments based on a set of proposed rules that may or may not affect you directly? Why don't you switch schools now, because the Mizzou Greek system doesn't really need one more self-absorbed little freshman who makes up her mind before knowing the facts.

They aren't rumors.. Those rules are a real thing that could be implemented that the Chancellpor is fighting for.
But since the IFC and PHA are against these rules, and they would be the ones implementing them, they won't be very serious, most liekly. The worst possible scenario is that they would be implemented. Best case is that they are shot down. The reality is that some will be implented an dosme will be "recommended"aka not enforced. There's not a lot to panic about. BUT it is a serious thing to talk about. The consortoriuma nd Chancellor Loftin undermined every sorority girl's opinion on THEIR OWN safety. They targeted every fraternity man as a predator and that every woman is incapable of being responsible. That is the real issue that PHA and IFC is fighting. ANd they are doing a great job. So don't bash Mizzou's greeklife just yet!
