Not a lot of houses do COB in the first semester because they just got a ton of new members. Some houses, like Theta, aren't allowed to do COB at all. I remember that from Fall 2014 the only houses I know for sure that did any type of COB were Phi Mu, Sigma, and A-Phi (although A-Phi only took like 5 girls). COB is meant to keep quota in the chapters, and usually the chapters have no issues filling quota right after getting 90+ girls. In the spring a lot more houses choose to COB. But you have to reach out to them and show interest in their chapter by emailing their recruitment VP or membership chair. Honestly, a lot of the house sthat do COB have girls that are actives recomend other non-greek girls who want to be greek. That is how a majority of COBs in my house got in. Usually a house willemail you directly if they want you to be a part of their COB process. I know ADPi, AXO, Zeta, A-Phi, and DG did this in Spring 2015. Hope that helps!

The only real reason a house COBs in the fall is when there is a massive drop out rate for example when Sigma Kappa came to Mizzou. The quota number was set really high and all but 1 or 2 houses handed out informal bids. Also it is possible that houses that have hit quota, but still don't have a full house can call, on bid day,PNMs that have dropped out, but that is extremely rare. COB is usually saved for spring.

Don't count on COBing. It is an inherently unfair system. You can contact all of the houses and never hear back. You can sit around wondering when events might start and then find out a house is done with the process. Furthermore, because there are no rules, it can be as discriminatory as a house desires because no one is monitoring what goes on. For every one girl who is satisfied with the system, there are six others who wonder "what the F?"
