That you may go in and it may not all work out for you. I'll be honest before I went in I was confident that I'd get into a top house, when I got my houses back that first day I got like 5 back. I was so dissapointed and ended up dropping out of rush a few days later along with two of my other friends. Rush week sucks and it's a stressful week sometime it doesn't always work out but I COB'd a house this spring and absolutely love it, so it all happens for a reason

You'll find out that you don't want to be in all the so called top tier houses.

Not knowing even one person (going through rush or already in a house,) I found a sense of confidence and calm that was the introduction to my new life 500 miles away from home. And then, at the end of the week, I found a sisterhood. It was perfection.

This northerner learned that her feet swell in Missouri's August heat and humidity. None of my shoes fit. Thank God for adjustable strappy sandals.

I found that the girls who go through rush are a collection of the smartest, most talented and pretty girls from every high school in Missouri and beyond, and that it is extremely competitive. But I kept calm and persevered and wound up just where I wanted to be. Don't lose confidence in yourself, but also keep your standards flexible.

Don't compare yourself to the girls around you! The girls that attend Mizzou are beautiful smart and well rounded and it can become extremely intimidating during rush!! TRUST ME we (the girls in houses that are rushing you) are just as nervous as you are--- probably even more nervous!! BE YOURSELF. Do NOT listen to anyway that says "fake it till you make it" NOT TRUE AT ALL. DONT DO THAT. YOULL BE UNHAPPY. and trust me, even if you don't end up in your first choice house, you will still make amazing friends and i can guarantee you 99% of the time you will end up loving that house just as much.

I learned that if the conversation wound up in a place where I could put sorority members at ease, that I would be asked back. It's all about the ebb and flow.

What do you mean by "put them at ease"?

To ignore 99% of what you read on this site. Some people are actually helpful and will honestly answer questions. Most are on here to bash the same houses over and over again and have their own agendas. Dont think for a minute that their opinions are what the majority of us think. They pick on the same houses, repeat the same garbage over and over, and even create posts and respond to them to make it look like everyone shares their opinions. Go through recruitment and decide for yourself what house is for you.

You'll learn that being in a sorority is not all sunshines and rainbows...and you will very likely not like all 90 something of your sisters but that will be true of any group you join with that many women

That your feelings will get hurt. Whether you got dropped by a certain top house or got dropped by all houses every girl's feeling are going to get hurt. Rush is stressful on everyone. It's a great time to make friends and bond with girls who are going through similar things as you. The girls in the house can see through being fake and peppy. These chapters want real girls who aren't afraid to be themselves!
