Everyone knows that girls go into rush wanting the top 6: Tri Delt, Pi Phi, ChiO, Theta, Kappa, GammaPhi/DG. After a few days, girls get dropped from these houses and ADPi, AXO, APhi, KD, Zeta start looking really good and they should - because they are good, quality houses. And don't be embarrassed if you get down to Sigma, PhiMu, SK, at the end because in the end all that matters is that being a Greek at Mizzou !

I dropped Theta, ChiO and Phi Mu , also Sigma and Kappa. The conversation was all about academics. Academics are important, but that is not what I want to talk about 24/7. Maybe it isn't about that all the time. This was my impression. Two good friends of mine from high school are in those houses. I actually was stronger academically, but I didn't fit in there. It is a fact that I am smart. I would never say that to anyone's face. I just am repudiating the implication that since I am not in one of the " smart" houses, that I am dumb. Also goes to say that if you are in a "S+L+oot " house, you may not be a slo++Ot....

A conversation about academics as you are about to enter an institution of higher learning? How DARE they?????? That's outrageous. Better they should have asked whether you puked the last time you got drunk, right?

Except that this person IS dumb for thinking that a conversation about academics was inappropriate. What could possibly be MORE appropriate? the conversations were right before you started taking your first college classes, which is why we all are on this campus, isn't it? So asking about what your career goals are or your major or how you decided on that major or whether you are looking forward to certain classes is about the most suitable conversation I can imagine. And what's the alternative? Talking about partying, boys, politics, religion? The fact that this person dropped several houses (which I actually doubt she did) because they dared to talk about the one common denominator we all have at this school is truly bizarre.

As I said, academics do not define me. Everyone hopefully has other interests.
That defines "well rounded" .... And I don't drink- lol :)
