not for everyone

by: Yes

Lately there have been a rash of postings from people with low GPAs, low ACT scores and just generally marginal students at best. There also have been a bunch of posts being critical of people who talk about how selective the MIZZOU sorority system is and how grade cuts are a real thing. Can we just admit that sorority life is a privilege, not a right, and that it's not for everyone? If you are a marginal student, have learning problems or are likely not able to make grade cuts in the majority of houses, perhaps sorority life is not for you. When you are in a sorority there are serious demands on your time. There also are grade requirements and proctoring from the house's scholarship chair. If you have any doubts at all whether you can handle the demands on your time along with keeping your grades up, grades should come first. I would hold off on pledging until you know whether you can handle the rigors of academia. Rush as a sophomore.
