by: gogreekI also don't go to this school, but a bunch of my friends do and I feel genuinely sorry for the girls rushing. I go a very elite, and highly Greek university and we treat our PNM's like gold because we love that they want to participate in the Greek community as a whole. Without them, there would be NO HOUSES. How can you expect to be treated with respect during rush if you show none to your pnm's? Saying things like "you have no idea what it takes to be in our house" and "you don't choose us" is absurd. Recruitment is an equilibrium, you both need each other. This is exactly the kind of thing that makes Greek life everywhere look so heinous. You know how intimidating and scary it is to go through recruitment and so what if girls get their heart set on something that may be based on rumors/ranks/tiers? I HIGHLY doubt you didn't if you're claiming you're so prestigious. You aren't setting any sort of example by bashing them. A condescending attitude is never appreciated by anyone and I wouldn't want to be in anyone's house who treats people like that, top tier or not. Go kill it pnm's!

I don't know where the OP went to school, but here at Mizzou there are about 3 PNMs for every new pledge that makes it. We want the best and the brightest. We have high standards. We are being honest when we say that you have to be your best self to do well during rush. What's wrong with being honest? And at the end of the day, while there are many sad girls who drop or aren't pleased with their choices, there are even more who continue to make this one of the best sorority systems in the nation. We know exactly what it's like. Someone who doesn't even go to this school and who has never experienced Mizzou rush doesn't have to lecture us. You have NO credibility anyway. It is a system that works. It is the envy of most Greek systems. And if the original poster bases her opinion on what she reads here instead of what actually happens during rush, well, God help you.

OP, why do you feel the need to lecture us? If Mizzou didn't have 2000 girls rush then things would be A LOT different, thats great that yor greek system does things differently but does it have 2000 girls rushing? Its hard on houses to make cuts when there's so many girls.

While I agree with your point, 3 PNMs per 1 pledge slot is inaccurate. About 75% of people who rush get into a house.
