I cant speak for the houses but here is my thought based on people who pledged this year that went to high school .If you are in a house and its different, please correct your house !

Pi Phi, Chi O, Theta, TriDelt..need at least a 3.4
Kappa, ADPi, AXO...need at least a 3.2
GPhi,DG, KD..need at least a 3.0
APhi, Zeta, TriSig, SK, Phi Mu..need at least a 2.8

Thank you! Do you send in a transcript or do you write down your GPA? Just wondering if they would look at my weighted

Kappa requires a 3.4 and ADPi suggests a 3.4 but are willing to make exceptions

Don't believe what people say. Grade cuts are something that houses don't advertise because there can be exceptions. However, I'm in a so-called "bottom tier house" and we cut way above a 2.8 and I would assume most other houses do too. There's no way to confirm that though so don't stress it because a lot goes into inviting a PNM back

Grade cuts serve a purpose. It's not that sororities are being arbitrary and needlessly selective. It's that college is difficult and if you can't do better than a 3.0 or 3.2 in high school, where the most popular grade given (according to national research) is an A, then perhaps you should reconsider joining a sorority, which puts more demands on your time. Sororities expect 18-year-olds to be able to manage their time and set priorities, but if you had less than a 3.0 in high school, perhaps that's a problem for you and you might very well struggle in college and not make grades. No one wants that. People go to college first and foremost to get an education. Going Greek is purely optional, but if you have trouble studying, sorority life might not be for you.

I really wish PHA would set a minimum GPA required for PNMs. This would help the houses and the PNMs as well. It would reduce the numbers for recruitment and make the pledge classes smaller. It's great to say we have the second largest recruitment in the country but we are doing a disservice to our houses and new freshman by taking girls who struggled in high school. Sorority life is great but it is very time consuming and for many a huge distraction preventing them from focusing on what they are really here for.

Nice idea in theory, but it's never going to happen. PHA cannot dictate to houses who they can and cannot accept as members. So PHA cannot limit PNMs for any reason, including grades. Plus, not having a grade cutoff only makes pledge classes bigger if some house takes the PNM with low grades. Any house can release a PNM for grades. Even houses that invite back a large number of women because of RFM calculations can get exceptions and release women for grades or because they don't meet the standards of membership. If you feel like your house is being forced to take members with low grades, talk to your national volunteers or representatives. That is an internal problem, not PHA's fault.

I think I read on something posted by Mizzou that you can't rush if your GPA is below a 2.5

They sort of do when you register during summer they give you a grade scale breakdown of what is safe to rush with and what is not good to go in with just so you are informed and don't get hopes up/crushed based off of what you think about your gpa

Honestly it's pretty unlikely you will get into most houses with anything below a 3.0 unless you're a legacy or just freakin' awesome.
