bid day
by: PnmI keep hearing how great bid day is but I was wondering other than receiving a bid, what else usually happens with your new house?

They basically throw a party at their house for you (not one with alcohol, obviously) but there will be fun music, you'll get a free tshirt, take LOTS of pictures, and most houses have a fun activity for you to do either at the house or later in the day. Don't forget that you'll be showered with presents as well!

False. You really think any house could get away with alcohol on Bid Day, when your house is crawling with alumni and advisors? Chi o is one of the strictest about drinking in house anyways

Chi O is actually very strict about drinking on bid day. There is NO drinking allowed on bid day for any sorority.

I'll give you an example of our bid day when I pledged. I pledged SK and after you open your bid and see the Pi Chi reveal, you run to your new house. Everyone is running through Greek Town, screaming and cheering. You run up to your new house and you're met by dozens of girls who are excited to meet you, you get hugs from people you don't know, lots of excitement. Then we went inside and were given a bid day shirt, so be sure to wear a tank top to Bid Day so you can slip your Bid Day shirt on over it. We had a lot of food and candy, then there was a hypnotist that we all piled into the living and watched.
You're usually paired up with an in house girl to be your Bid Day Buddy, everyone has name tags, lots of photos and food and meeting your new sisters. It's a lot of fun!

The rule to stay off fraternity property/not drink during rush week lasts until 7 AM on Monday morning, the day after bid day.
