grades
by: PNMI've seen a lot of people on here asking about GPAs and other stuff on their resumes.I was just wondering what a perfect GPA does? Like for example, if you have a perfect GPA and okay involvement, but sub par volunteerism, and you click with the girls in a house, are you likely to get a bid? I know that it's a holistic process, but I was just wondering how much it sticks out for someone to have a perfect GPA in terms of grade cuts and what not.

I don't think houses are looking for a perfect GPA. they simply are looking for smart girls. But to get into a top house you also have to be well-rounded. If you have excellent grades and a 30+ ACT, that's an excellent start. But you also have to excel in other areas, like being the editor of your high school newspaper or being an athlete or a pianist or something else that shows some real accomplishment. The thing is, you could look perfect on paper but if you can't hold a conversation or if you come across as aloof or smug or goofy or just odd, well, the best grades in the world won't help you. If you are a super smart girl but socially awkward, i would work on that over the summer. Get a job where you have to talk to strangers, for example, or spend time observing people with great social skills. See how they do it.
