wanting the best for me

im actually really curious if you can do it at this point. Right after rush will you please respond with what house you got? if not I'm going to assume you got cut or ended up dropping.

I know this girl. She goes to a high school where just about everyone gets A's, so she thinks she's smart. She joins all kinds of organizations so that it seems like she's very involved, but takes no leadership role in any of the. She volunteers so that she can put it on her resume, but makes no real commitment to a cause. She thinks she's pretty because every time her mom would buy her a new frilly outfit she would tell her daughter how pretty she was, and every time she leaves the house her parents tell her she's beautiful, even though she's pretty average. She thinks she's popular because she has so many Facebook friends, but she doesn't really know the meaning of being a true friend. She thinks she's musical because her parents kept paying for piano lessons, hoping she would do something remarkable, but they're still waiting. Girls like these are a dime a dozen. In fact, on paper she's JUST LIKE every other girl who goes through rush. Unless she gets her act together, there is no way in the world she will do well in rush. She likely will be just another girl who drops out of rush when the rest of the world lets her know she's not nearly as special as she thinks she is.

Well, unfortunately my Dad didn't invent toaster strudel. And my mom didn't invent post-it notes. My parents are pretty cool, but we're not rich and the clothes I have and the things I own are because I babysat and worked and saved my money. I don't play the piano, but I sing and have taken dance. I get A's because I'm smart, I have leadership positions because I like to lead and I volunteer at my church and tutoring children because I love kids. I have a lot of friends because I'm loyal and have a sense of humor and I'm good at listening. I will be happy to let you know if I get a house or if I drop out. And...you WILL like me.

I get it...People need to be real on here...I went into rush a few years ago with 8 houses I was going for. I did the research and knew general info on each house. I also knew girls in many of the houses so I had a feel for the mean girl houses, hot do nothing houses, along with the smarter, more involved houses. Its not hard with all the social media. Many girls come in with a feeling about what a house stands for. It has nothing to do with tiers..so to the girl going for certain houses...I get it !!

You notice she titled her post "Wanting the best for Me"? Is that selfish or what? She doesn't want to contribute anything to a house to make it better, she just wants to boast about what house she's in so that SHE looks better. Well, those of us in influential positions in top houses are doing our rankings of girls during rush based on what makes our houses better and who will be an asset. We sort of look down on users who don't have much to offer. And we can spot you a mile away. I doubt you will be pledging my house any time soon, even though it's on your list.
