wanting the best for me
by: ThelmaI know I'm supposed to give every house a chance but if I don't get Chi Omega, Pi Phi, Theta, Kappa, Tri Delta , or Gamma Phi I don't want to settle for the others. I have outstanding grades, activities, honors, volunteerism, I'm musical and I'm pretty. Even though it doesn't sound like it here I'm very humble though also very popular at my school. Do very many people drop out of rush if they get their hearts set on these houses?

#3by: ehh
Those houses are all on way different levels. You will like different houses once you visit. I know you'll hear it so many times but keep an open mind and you'll love wherever you end up! As long as you're not in Tri Sig, it doesn't matter because people won't talk about you and even if you were in Tri Sig, if you love it that's all that matters!

The overwhelming majority of women who don't end up with a bid are snotty, stuck up women who somehow think they are "too good" for certain chapters. I'm in one of the houses you mentioned and we don't want you.
You should look up the word humble. Clearly you don't understand what it means.
Please reconsider. There is still hope for you to find a house that is the best fit for you. If you go into recruitment with this attitude, I promise you will end up with nothing but regrets.

You want us to congratulate her on her honesty? Ok. OP, congrats for being honest about your narrow-mindedness, and for the fact that you give credence to rumors and think you are able to decide which group of 300+ women would be worthy of your membership based on the tidbits you pick up online.

You're clearly not humble for starters. Two girls in my house got tapped for secret societies this year at Tap Down, not an accolade you can tout despite having such outstanding grades. Another woman in my chapter was recognized by our national chapter as well as the university for her philanthropic work, you haven't.
It's apples and oranges. I'm sure you're a very well rounded eighteen year old. But you're coming in against A LOT of equally qualified, and often times more qualified girls than you are.
My house is a bottom tier house but based on your attitude, we don't want you either sweetie. Good luck rushing but honestly, I hope no house gets you with that piss poor attitude you're sporting.

When I go through you will not think of me as pompous or full of myself because in real life I'm very friendly and outgoing. You will like my resume and you will like my attitude and my talents and my looks. There is no way you will know that the houses I mentioned are the only ones I will consider for reasons of my own which you don't know. I would never discuss this with my friends or people I meet during rush. My original question was do many girls drop out if they get cut by their favorites. I don't want to join a house if I don't feel it just to be iGreek.

With 2000 girls, it's a compliment to get a bid to ANY house. Being greek is a privilege, not a right.
