If the implication is that all white sorority girls are preppy, conservative, narrow-minded Christian Republicans, you are absolutely wrong. There are a lot of us who think for ourselves and shouldn't be stereotyped that way. I am extremely liberal and have found many like-minded sisters in my house. Besides, why be in college if all you are going to do is accept your parents' beliefs as fact. Isn't college all about figuring things out for yourself?

I could not love this comment more. As a very liberal, agnostic woman of color in a great house, I wish we could break the whole stereotype altogether.

Except that most of them don't have that much money. I have good friends in Theta, PiPhi and ADPi (and those are just the ones I know about) who have more wealth than they know what to do with. The difference is that they don't let others know about it. You know what they say about money and taste rarely going hand in hand? Well, if you let people know you have money, you don't really have that much.

Only new money would say something like "they have so much money they don't know what to do with it." Old money, on the other hand, would never say something so silly...BIG DIFFERENCE.

Except the people with the old money DIDN'T say it. I did. And I can assure you that I barely have two nickels to rub together. I am neither old money nor new money: I am no money at all. Full academic scholarship, part time job to pay my sorority dues, pre-med with a 4.0. But I'm in a great house with wonderful friends who don't judge.

I agree with Kappa.. but really, none of the sororities here are all that southern.
