question
by: SophomoreSo I'm a freshman right now and I am thinking about rushing next fall as a sophomore. Being totally honest, do sophomores even have a chance? Or can they only get into like the bottom houses? Is there a chance that a sophomore can get into like Chi O or Pi Phi, or does that just not happen? I have really good grades, if that changes anyone's answer.

Even if you don't get into Chi O or Pi Phi, that doesn't necessarily mean you'll only get into a "bottom tier" house. A friend of mine who is a sophomore transfer student from a community college just COB'd ADPi recently. Just go through recruitment with an open mind, I'm sure you'll find a house that's a great fit for you, especially if you have good grades!

I rushed as a sophomore and got into what is considered a "hot" house.
The thing you have to remember is that Mizzou's greek life may have it's tiers and reputations amongst each other, but go to other schools and our "worst" sorority is that campus' best. You will find a group you will mesh with no matter what house you get into -- with over 200 women in each chapter, you will click with someone. Being greek is better than not, so go for it and good luck!
