recommendation letters
by: incoming freshmanhi guys! I've heard a little bit about recommendation letters but I have no idea how to go about getting them! can you still get into houses without them? if anyone could give me some accurate information that would be very helpful. thank you in advance!

Some houses put more emphasis on them than others. Without knowing which is which, it's best to at least try to get recs for as many houses as you can. Talk to your teachers, your mom and dad's friends, anyone you work with, your own friends to see if their older sisters or moms are alumnae. Some sororities let active members write recs, so your friends who have already graduated may be able to help, too.

I didn't start asking for mine until after I graduated! So there is no need to worry about it yet! Right now you can work on building a "resume" that you can give to the people writing your recommendations so that they know what things are important to you and they can make sure to include them in your letter, even if they do not know you super well.
