phi mu

by:

Hey guys, so I just got an invite for an event at phi mu. I really want to be in a sorority and I'm just curious to know what other people's experiences are with being in a bottom tier house. Do people think less of you/make fun of you? Is it worth it? Should I just wait and rush as a sophomore? Any advice would be great!

Are you really asking some of the most critical and objective people in the world to make this decision for you? REALLY? You're in college now. Make up your own mind.

I'm asking for advice and people's experiences on a forum specifically designed for people to discuss Greek life at mizzou.

The members of PhiMu are going to say it's a great sisterhood. Others are going to say it's not. I wouldn't believe either opinion. Go to the dam party and decide for yourself.

I know girls in Sigma and Phi Mu who wouldn't trade the greek experience for anything. They know they're in the bottom but could care less because they are making the most of the sorority experience. All they wanted was to be involved in Mizzou greek life and live in a house and enjoy the sisterhood and that's what they're doing!

Honestly, rushing as a sophomore you're not likely to get asked back to a lot of houses, especially if you rushed as a freshman and tried COBing some of the ones that were participating. I'm in a house that people consider "bottom tier", that is if you choose to listen to what random people on the internet are telling you, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love my sisters and I love my house. You need to go to the event yourself and get a fresh perspective. Go in with an open mind and just see what you think of the house and the girls. Who knows, you could fall in love with it or you could decide it's just not for you. You'll know when you go through the event, trust me. But you can't make an accurate decision until you experience it yourself, so go try it.
