In order for Phi Mu to step out of the bottom tier, another house has to fall into the bottom tier. KD would have to fall behind for Phi Mu to replace them. And even then they'd have to outrush other bottom tier houses. Despite doing better in competitions, Phi Mu still isn't as popular as SK or Zeta.
SK and Zeta, despite their issues, are more popular than Phi Mu. Plus Phi Mu has to fix their retention rates to move up to lower middle tier. In my opinion, SK or Zeta is closer to tier jumping than Phi Mu.

Phi Mu also has noticeably fewer girls than SK or Zeta. SK is the biggest house on campus right now and despite these alleged retention issues Zeta has, they are also about an average chapter in size. Can't say the same for Phi Mu.

In terms of getting better, phi mu is definetely getting better. I don't think anyone should take that away from them. They've been hovering in the middle of bottom tier for a while and some years they're closer to top, other years closer to bottom. I would say they have solidly past sigma and zeta in bottom tier, but KD and SK are still the top 2 houses in bottom tier.

KD, SK, phi mu, zeta, sigma

KD and Zeta are most preferred by PNMs followed by SK, Phi Mu, and Sigma.

Who cares!? I know quite a few PM's and most are sweet. Yeah, a few older girls maybe "awkward" but who cares, maybe they're just quiet or keep people they don't know at arm's length. Every house (sorority and fraternity) here on campus has their outgoing members and their more reserved members. I don't understand how we can all get on here and judge one another's houses when we only really know what it's like to live in the house we belong to. So stupid. If we did less of this stupid "which house is in what tier" and all just had fun and served the community maybe there'd be less time spent here!

Look, I know most of us don't like Zeta but the fact is they are the top of the bottom tier. The bottom tier in order is Zeta, SK, Phi Mu, Sigma. KD is lower middle tier if you ask me but some people might put them at the top of the bottom tier. Regardless, in order for Phi Mu to tier jump they need to be more popular than three other houses, SK, Zeta and KD. And I don't see that happening soon.

Oh dear here we go. Phi mu is now linking themselves to better houses to get out of the cellar. I liked them better when they weren't so obsessed with their ranking. This thread makes them seem just as egotistical as everyone else, which is a bummer because they never used to care :(
