living in hose

by: pnm

I am wondering what the various sororities' policy is regarding living in house. I really want to experience that part of Greek life. I hear that at some houses not all of the girls will be able to live in. Any info on this would be great!
Thanks in advance

In my house you have to earn the right to live in the house. It's not really that hard, but it has to do with participation in house events, grades etc. If you do extremely well and earn a lot of point, not only is it guaranteed you will live in the house, but you (and your roommates) get to choose the best rooms. I'm pretty sure you will learn how to get to live in the house after you join, so just make sure you takes those guidelines seriously. And, yes, living in the house IS THE BEST!!!! And if you get to be an officer, chances are you can live in the house at least an extra semester. There is nothing like it. You develop bonds for life and it is such fun to be in the middle of Greektown during homecoming. It pretty much defined my sorority experience. I wouldn't have traded it for the world.

The reality is that with the quota getting higher every year, most houses can't accomidate a rush class of 90-100 girls living in. It's really sad. I loved living in the house, getting to know all of my sisters, and the amazing memories we created together because we lived under the same roof. I can't imagine not having an opportunity to live in. I think I would have quit. It's really sad that we are required to take so many girls and they will not have an opportunity to truly experience greek life and living in.

We need to cut the numbers regardless of how many girls are going through.
