house over crowding

I think the new house quotas are ridiculous. With 90-100 girls in each pledge class and tons of girls not getting to live-in, what's the point. You can't begin to make lasting relationships with that many girls and most of the pledge class can't get involved because there are too many. I think they should lower the amount of girls each house takes or maybe get a few new houses to handle the influx of girls who want to go greek. They should consider doing a smaller fall recruitment and then open up for a spring recruitment for every house.

Amen! Tell that to the office of Greek Life, apparently they don't see the need. Not such a great system now..

could not agree more . more girls going through rush SHOULD NOT = more girls that the houses can take. just because more girls want to be greek doesn't mean that they should

That's not the way it works with the quota/total system. The only other options are 1) use bed rush like Indiana (which they're being pressured to get rid of) or 2) set an arbitrary cap on pledge class/chapter sizes like Ohio State used to do (they're now on a regular quota/total system).
