sorority comments

I believe appx. 500 girls got cut. And if the numbers of girls wanting to be greek remains as high as the past 2 years (1450 & 150), we definitely need another sorority. But prayers will soon be answered. Sigma Kappa is supposed to come back to campus sometime soon.

And yes, all 14 chapters made quota, most exceeded by a few.

Now those girls who were cut get the opportunity to start Signa Kappa and set the tone for how they will be received on campus. It's a unique challenge, but could be rewarding for them.

Just because they were at the house on pref day does not guarantee a bid. It doesn't work that way anymore. If they fell below the quota line at that house, there just wasn't room for them. Most houses choose to extend bids to all legacies that attend on the final day, and that can be a huge number of girls in some cases. Even with these huge quotas, girls end up at Thr bottom of the list.

at many schools, being in a house on pref day, will guarantee a bid to that group but not so for you. with about 500 girls cut, looks like the interest is high enough for more than one new sorority. good luck to all.

Every house made quota? That's unusual. I know a lot of outstanding girls that dropped out this year. Very brutal rush

Outstanding girls drop out every year, nothing new there. But quota was 80 and houses took 82-88 (around there). So with 1654 going thru recruitment, only 1150 got houses, leaving 500 girls with nothing. Maybe 100 dropped, so still 400 got nothing.

With 1600+ going through this year, it would have been really, really lame of a house to not make quota. Everyone did really well.

Are we doing this AGAIN? Dear "real rankings" aka, DG -- give it a rest. Please stop starting s#!t by posting these ridiculous rankings. EVERYONE had a great recruitment, and now it's time to get involved and make the most of Greek life. So just STOP ALREADY.
