"huh" is correct! Tri Delt, DG, GPhi, Chi O, and Pi Phi are always the most desired houses during recruitment. The tiers are the way they are based on which houses girls want to be in the most and which houses they'll "take" somewhat happily, or which houses they'll "take" as a last pick. Grades, involvement, sisterhood, success don't usually factor in too much because incoming freshmen aren't aware of where each house falls in those categories (example you don't know a house's sisterhood, unless you're part of the house). So yes, "huh" is correct
Most desired -
DDD, Gphi, ChiO, DG, PiPhi
Will take - ADPi, Theta, Kappa, Trisig, Alpha Chi, APhi
Last Choice - KD, Zeta, Phi Mu

ratings shouldn't really matter, neither should reputations. I was a geed at my previous school, but I'm going to do recruitment this time around. And unless I like a house for MY OWN reasons I'm not going to want to pledge. When you join a sorority you need to make sure your making the right choice for you.

The tiers are pretty much agreed upon and girls like the one below try to fool incoming freshmen, but really they will figure it out pretty quickly during recruitment week.
Top (no order):
DDD, GPhi, DG, Chi O, Pi Phi
Middle (no order):
Theta, Kappa, ADPi, APhi, Sigma, AXO
Bottom:
KD, Zeta, Phi Mu
Pretty apparent to most of us with a brain.

I think we can agree that it all depends on what you're looking for in a chapter. Those focusing more on the social aspect of college will be more likely to think of DDD, DG, or GPhi as top tier. Those focusing more on academics and involvement will probably prefer Theta, Chi O, Pi Phi, or Kappa. Really we are lucky to have so many really strong houses - even our lower mid tier groups are stronger than the best groups on other campuses, so there's something for everyone.
