who will take juniors in their house?

by:

Hi! I'm a transfer as junior! I've always liked the thought of joining a sorority but unfortunately my school for the first two years did not have greek life. I'm thinking about joining one now because I feel like I will regret never being part of one later on. I know my options can be slim because of my age but I think it's worth a shot! So I was wondering if you can give me your opinion on what houses might take me? Or what you think is the best option for me to do at this point as a junior?

There's always a chance. Slim, but a chance. Juniors don't count towards quota. I know quite a few houses (top and bottom) that have taken juniors. Worth a shot.

It is not true to say that juniors don't count towards quota. Although many (all?) other large greek systems have an upperclass quota or allow juniors and seniors as free quota additions, Mizzou does not. A junior will count toward quota just the same as a freshman, making it hard for them to join.

If you are a member of a current house on campus and don't like that answer, then talk to your PHA rep about instituting an upperclass quota!

I rushed as a junior and got into an upper middle tier house. I had a very good GPA and a lot of extra curriculars from my old university, which also did not have greek life. It's worth a shot if you've got the money to thrown down for recruitment fees. I did it on a whim and I'm so happy I did.
