I'm currently rushing Zeta, DG, and SK. From what i've been told, Zeta in the past has taken 20-30 girls. To me, that's kinda a reg flag though... why are they having so much trouble keeping members? There's always rumors that their sisterhood is, for lack of better words, non-existent, and I understand you have to take everything with a grain of salt. However, rumors have to start from somewhere. I would be very cautious of joining an established sorority that has trouble keeping members. I understand the newer houses (Sigma, SK, Phi Mu) are still trying to get their footing, but Zeta is also the only house in bottom tier that has been here for a long time. My hope is to accept a bid from DG or SK. Zeta is my third choice because I'm concerned with all the problems they've been having. If zeta is my only option, I'm not sure if I'm going to accept.

My neighbor is a Zeta and said they are only taking in a few new members but there were around 70 at the event. She is guessing 10 or less and no they do not just take anyone despite what others are saying. I seriously doubt if the person who posted above is actually currently rushing any house but just on here to try to stir it up and bash Zeta. You should probably hear something soon. Good luck.

Thank you for the real response, honestly the other night was so fun and it says a lot that there were 70+ girls were excited to be there too. but goodness knows if I go into too much detail I'll get a "haha nice self rank zeta"

Zeta took 20 girls last spring. It's in the Greek life grades spread sheet. Does anyone know why they have to COB so many girls? "Worried 2" is making me second guess joining zeta. I don't want to join a house that girls just drop all the time!

All houses lose girls for many of the same reasons. Financial reasons are probably the biggest issue. Since most girls only live in their house for a year, that has them paying three years of out of house fees which can be a burden. Others leave because of grades or because Greek life isn't a good fit for them. I There are also girls who transfer to another university and graduating seniors that are figured into the numbers. Most houses have more underclassmen than upperclassmen. I wouldn't think less of a house because they are taking in 20 for a house of 300. It doesn't mean that everyone is unhappy or that all of their new people dropped. If they are making quota every year and keeping their house full (even by cobing) they are not struggling. I would not worry about numbers and what you read on here. If you go to any house and feel like it is right for you, then give it a chance. All the houses here are great and have something to offer.

I'm not cobing zeta but i know people who have already gotten bids, so I'm pretty sure they're done cobing.. Im so sorry

^^^ Thank you, I did get an email from them though no bid. I have to say at least zeta knows how to do cob. They were extremely gracious taking the time to talk to every girl and giving everyone a fair shot. They know how to cob and the other houses should pay attention instead of being so secretive and unfair. Good for you zeta!
