by: PNMAre there any sororities with an especially bad rap for hazing?! I understand I'll be a freshmen and hazing is a part of that but I definitely draw the line with some things!

Sorry! Didn't mean to scare you. Recruitment is just a really long week. It's mentally and physically exhausting. Moving in the dorm, attending all the parties, and then the nervous mornings finding out who invited you back. Hoping you get a bid from your favorite house. It's a lot for new freshmen to deal with. The extreme heat was also a factor this year for a lot of girls. So my point is, if you can survive this week there's no need for any additional hazing!

Several sororities have gotten in trouble for "hazing" (sometimes its very silly things that can be called hazing) before. BUT that was several years ago (most recent one was like 4 years I think?) so not a single girl that is a greek member now was ever involved in hazing. We take it pretty seriously now, and sororities have cleaned house. Even the party groups are just partiers, not hazers. So don't believe horror stories.

Like I said, I understand I'll be a freshmen and I know my place but crazy hazing definitely scares me! So reading that makes me feel much better..thank you! can't wait to be a part of the greek life next year
