tailgates: awkward in-between?
by: confusedAfter my first year here at mizzou, I noticed that at tailgates half the people are dressed Big 10 - t shirts, converse - while the other half are dressed SEC - dresses, blouses, collared shirts. What gives? Our tailgates get pretty crazy so I'm not sure where this desire to be classy like the southern schools comes from.

Most of the men on this campus (fratboys or not) are slobs, so that's who probably is wearing t-shirts and Converses. In the past few years women have stepped up and you see a lot more dresses. As we take more pride in being an SEC school I think we will get better, but it might take time.

I would never be seen in a tshirt and converse on a game day...from a girl's perspective, we go to fraternity tailgates and we want to be dressed nicely around guys, our friends, and our families even if we're at our own tailgates especially if we're going to be in pictures. Tailgating is kind of like a social event before the game. Just because our tailgates get crazy doesn't mean people can't dress nice. Ole Miss has the biggest tailgates out of any college I know and they out dress pretty much every school on game days.

You tell me how easy it is to find a gold, yellow, or mustard colored dress...it's hard. That's why girls find black or white dresses or rompers, etc.
