by: abcWhy doesn't mizzou have a party week like roundup or rowweek? Look them up if you don't know what they are...

There's rules and regulations that fraternities must follow. Schools like alabama, Texas etc are able to throw those parties because they are allowed too. They also larger greek systems. I don't think that there's any fraternity that would be opposed in doing so, but with rules the way they are, it's not worth the ramifications. Sorority girls like to complain about issues like this, but In all reality they have zero idea of the risk management issues. its obvious with all the fratenrites getting in trouble last semester, a simple house party can easily put you in trouble. Let alone a week of parties.

Do we really need one more excuse to party? It seems like we party all of the time. And for those of you who wish we were more of a party school, I'm sorry, but Mizzou has spent the last decade trying to improve its academic reputation and those of us who care about those sorts of things finally can be proud. We are attracting more out of state students and some of our programs other than just journalism are on the national radar. You can party all you want, but I want my 3.92 gpa to count for something when I apply to med schools next year.

Then don't go to parties. If I want to drink, it's my choice and I have a 3.9 as well so nice try!
