bottom tier

The difference between top and bottom teir is that all the girls in houses like sigma and phi mu are in their house because they love it and not because of the reputation they get for being in it. They're actually happy.

Most women love the sorority they are in. Most love their sisters and couldn't imagine themselves anywhere else. The difference between top and bottom tier is that members of top tier sororities likely had their choice of where they wanted to wind up and members of bottom tier houses were lucky to get into a house at all. The OP was well-intentioned, but delusional.

Most girls get into the so called top houses because they know somebody in there. Doesn't mean they are any more sought after or better than anyone else in any other house. Just lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and know how to play the game.

I knew NO ONE when I went through rush. I grew up in Seattle and came to Mizzou to major in journalism. Every face I saw during rush was a stranger to me and, I assure you, I didn't "know how to play the game." And yet I had a great time, had great choices and wound up in the perfect house. On the last day I went to Pi Phi, Chi O and Theta and got my first choice. So can we put the misconception to rest that it is "who you know" that makes a difference? I actually think you have a better chance knowing no one because then your resume and personality can speak for itself.

I soooo agree with Ah, no. I was from a very small town and knew no one greek and had Theta, Chi O and Kappa on the last day and ended up in the perfect house. I did have good grades, high ACT and lots of activities and leadership positions. So again - It's not always "who you know"

Because a house is bottom tier doesn't mean they have great sisterhood.

To assume only people in lower tier houses are happy is ridiculous. And I don't know one person who pledged a house they didn't want to be in solely because of "the reputation they get for being in it." The OP seems to be bitter, resentful and a little envious. I wish everyone could be as happy as I am, and that everyone can find a niche in Greek life. It matters not a whit whether you are in a top house or a bottom house. What matters is that you are comfortable there and that it makes you happy. And I assure you I am as happy as can be in a top tier house, just as some of my friends are thrilled to be in the houses they are in. Let's try our hardest to not embarrass ourselves by making sweeping generalizations that are so easy to disprove, OK Bottom Tier. It just makes all of Greektown look stupid.
