cob events

Can someone please explain the cob process? I know it's next semester, but do all the sororities that are cobing have their events the same week? How many events do you usually go to for each sorority? Does it usually start right after break?

COB is done differently by each chapter, sometimes events may fall around the same time but there isn't one specific week when all COBing takes place. If you are interested in COBing a certain chapter, email their VP recruitment tonight or by the end of this week (you want to get on their radar now!!), introduce yourself, and ask if they will be COBing. They will normally put you on a list of interested PMs and contact you if they do hold recruitment events. Also, ask around to girls you know in chapters. They can put in a good word for you.

Usually the COB process has 2-3 events you may be invited to, anything from hanging out with chapter members at the house and making crafts for their philanthropy, to going out to dinner with a couple chapter members. And then bid day at the end, if you receive a bid!

Even if you've emailed a house a few times and they've never gotten back to you, you might still be on their list of interested PMs?

not necessarily, maybe they aren't COBing but who knows, you might get an email from them to come to an event next semester. Patience is key but I have a feeling chapters who will COB will jump on it right as the semester starts.

my gpa is barely above a 2.0 but i really wanna join a sorority to get my grades up and get more involved and make friends. do you think i have a chance at DG?

honestly...no house will COB a girl with under a 3.0...... last year when DG cobed their average gpa was i believe around a 3.5

even if I really am doing it to better myself? theres a reason why i have such a bad gpa i wish it didnt have such an effect on my chances of getting into a sorority:(

No house will take a grade risk like that. In my house, if you're below a 2.75 gap you get a semester suspended and if you don't improve, we expel you.

For COB do they take your college GPA or High School?

College. High school is meaningless after one semster of college classes.

in most houses whats the gpa that will put you in academic bad standing? i know its different for every house but is it usually around a 2.7?
