I'm planning on going through recruitment in the fall, and I want to know what Theta is really like. I know they're known for being smart and competitive, but anything else? Also, are any houses known for having a lot of journalism majors?

they all have a lot of journalism majors. smart and competitive is right, they're nice and pretty girls but you really don't see too many of them at parties, so you'd have to be careful to avoid judgment. that's a generalization though, i know a couple who party.

a handful are pretty. 90% are homely business woman types. they all remind me of Hillary Clinton.

I mean, really. Hillary Clinton is brilliant, attractive, is a Yale Law School grade, has been secretary of state and is the Democratic front-runner for president in 2016. It's a great house. One of the best. Very difficult to get into.

I agree with "LOL." Thetas are widely known to fill the vast majority of their house with small town, hyper-competitive, intelligent, unattractive, unsocial girls. They are not well-liked by others in Greek Town and therefore, rarely mix with other sororities. There are certainly a few exceptions, but not many.

The houses with a lot of journalism majors tend to be the houses with a lot of out-of-state girls. But by the time you get into the j-school you are a junior and prob not living in the house anyway.

YES, I attend Mizzou and have for 2+ yrs. So do my brothers, who are in different, but yet both well-respected fraternities. We ALL share the same view on Theta - a few nice, cute girls mixed in with 85% homely, small town, psycho-competitive, anti-social members. This opinion is also held by MANY on campus.
