I guess SK had elections last night and elected a bunch of sophomores to their executive board. Anyone else think that's weird? The girl running their recruitment is a sophomore as well as half of their exec board. My house doesn't let you run until you have junior status. What gives?

no that isn't weird at all because it will mean she runs half her position as a sophomore and the other half as a junior

Many houses do this here. If all executive board members are expected to live in the house, it's common for them all to be elected as sophomores and then live in their junior years. Much harder to get a junior to move back into the house and live in her senior year than it is to get a sophomore to stay in the house an extra year.

That's how my house does it, too. We elect sophomores who serve until the beginning of second semester of their junior year. There's no way in the world seniors on exec would want to live in the house.

SK does elections the same way my house does, they start new officers in January instead of the start of the school year. Which means those girls will be juniors halfway through their term. It looks weird from the outside by at least with my house, the old exec have a folder/binder of all the things the new exec needs to know and they go to officer training, so it's not super weird.

That is the norm. Quit picking on SK for EVERYTHING!
